Two national contests of people with disabilities concluded

Today the Komitas Chamber Music Hall in Yerevan hosted the award ceremony of the 4th National Beauty Contest of Women with Disabilities and the 2nd National Contest of Artworks by Disabled Artists. Both contests were organized by Unison with the financial support from the Ministry of Culture of Armenia and the Paros Foundation (USA). The contests were part of the Government program of cultural events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Spitak Earthquake (1988). Prizes for the winners were provided by Zigzag, Noyan Tapan and Renoir Salon-Boutique.
47 girls and women with disabilities participated in the Beauty Contest. Sirvard Levonyan, 26, was awarded the crown of Miss Beauty 2008. Nine other runners-up received various prizes.
Over 200 artworks by disabled artists were submitted to the jury of the creative contest. 12 winners and runners-up in 4 categories were awarded prizes.
